According to a 2023 Pew Research Center survey, 52% of Americans are more concerned than excited about AI in their daily lives. 36% of Americans feel a mix of excitement and concern, while 10% say they are more excited than concerned. What do you think about these statistics? Are you excited or concerned?

These statistics are pretty interesting. It seems like a lot of Americans have some mixed feelings about AI. Personally, I'm kind of in the middle – excited about the possibilities it brings but also a bit cautious about how it might affect our lives. It's all about finding the right balance, I guess, and making sure we're using AI responsibly.
As I am European, so I would like to share my thoughts about European countries. Generally, European countries are quite open to AI technologies, but there are also concerns about their impact on employment, privacy, and ethics.
Many Europeans recognize the potential benefits of AI in improving efficiency, advancing healthcare, and addressing societal challenges. However, there are also fears about job displacement due to automation and the potential for AI to exacerbate inequalities.
European governments and institutions are actively engaged in developing AI strategies and regulations to ensure that AI is deployed responsibly and ethically.
Overall, attitudes towards AI in Europe are characterized by a balance between enthusiasm for innovation and a cautious approach to addressing its potential risks and challenges.
The results on this survey make sense. Many Americans are just starting to hear about AI and all its potential; however, there is always a fear aspect to any new technology that is promoted by different media channels. Reekolect is striving to highlight AI as a powerful tool to help us better record and remember our ancestry, life journey, and intimiate memories with friends and family.
I'm excited because I understand how powerful AI can be in this space of Memory Preservations. Technologies like our "Conversations Beyond Time" will open a new door of possibilities that no one thought was possible before. In addition, fear can't dominate innovation --especially in technological developments to better human lives. AI isn't the birth or start of a Hollywood "Terminator" style of life, its the start of a 5th industrial revolution that will reshape what was thought to be possible.
Will there be pros and cons to AI? Yes. Will there be people who use AI for bad versus good? Yes. However, we can't allow those who choose to focus on detering innovation to instill fear in our natural desire to grow, evolve, and progress. In short, Im excited and Reekolect will be one of those companies that will go down in history as using our tools for the good!
